Discovery+ISS - Space day II.

Pictures have been taken today (The Discovery is far from the ISS, already, so I could capture them in two photos, poorly).

Space day

13 people in space in same time. It's 8 hours as the second hungarian is on his way for the second time, and he is the first space tourist who has second trip. So, the Soyuz TMA-14 is on way to the International Space Station, the Discovery with the crew of STS-119 is back to home and the ISS between guests.

And as the opportunity was at hand in evening at 19:30 we watched with the family as the Discovery leaded the ISS , and ran over the sky above us.

China keeps taking steps

Yesterday China  has begun its third manned mission to space.
Shenzhou-7. From now on this name is in the big mistory book of space exploration. Go, taikonauts,we are curios about the spacewalk!

"Clear night!"

I just arrived from Újudvar, I was at the TV tower with my brother in law Gr4ss. We were up at the TV tower for gazing to the stars, and to photographing. The people of the towns can't imagine that you can see much more stars far from the town. And there are just few who go away from the town to see for themselves. The loneliness, the silece (interrupted by owls) and the darkness make own special atmosphere.

Try it, it worths it!

Lunar eclipse

I confess that this dawn I hesitated about to go to photographing the lunar eclipse. Then I decided that yes. I prepaired for that, there wasn't long distance to go, (and I mentioned to lot of people) so I went down to the street.
Well, lunar eclipse for you (and for me).

Bumm!

The NRO-L21 spy satellite has been shot down from the Pearl Harbor-based Aegis cruiser, USS Lake Erie. To shot down a minivan sized object from a distance of 210kilometers that is travelling more than 17 000mph... that's something... Well, the operation was successful with a modified SM-3 rocket (that was like on the picture).
Time to cheer, or to bitch that even satellites are not in safe anymore. But I hope that the debris will reenter into the deeper atmosphere at a dark place, and there will be someone who will film it, or will take a photo of it.

NRO-L21,the satellite that will be shot down

A US spy satellite went out of order after its launch in 2006, and it is uncontrolled since that. The upper atmosphere makes drag effect, too, the satellite slowes down, and it can't stay on its track anymore. In this case they ignite the engine, boost it until it continues its way.
Now all of these are impossible, the L21 began unavoidable falling. When a minibus sized thing fall onto your head then it really ruins your day, and because of this the smarts decided to shoot it down. Maybe the smaller pieces will burn in the atmosphere, and won't fall on us in 100 pieces.
The russians see again that it is a final test of a newly developed rocket that is able to shoot down satellites.

Maybe. Maybe not.
Anyway, we went down to the back of our house to see the machine until we can see it. The result is up there as a 8 second picture.

five minutes astronomy

I don't have to go to work today, at last, so I picked my photocam up with the tripod, and I went down to the next of the house to shoot some astronomy photos. There will be needed to change some settings, but I could take some interesting pictures for the first time, too.
