Csikasz is coming!

Csikasz, reedy wolf, littlewolf, toportyán- (for most of us) these names are known by literature. But they all are about the same animal, the Golden Jackal (Canis aureus), that appeared in our country after more than a half century. They appearances, and habits are studied by the leading of Szent István University.
The Golden Jackal has appeared again in the early '90's, and it is almost everywhere in Hungary. 90-95% of them live in Somogy, Baranya, and Bács-Kiskun county. Perhaps it will find its home here, again, because here are lot of their main food, murines. And also they don't have natural enemy in Hungary. The Golden Jackal is bigger than a fox, but smaller than a wolf, can be found in Africa, and Asia, too.
